Recent research estimated that there were about 15,000 people homeless on a given night in Minnesota in 2015, with around 40,000 Minnesotans experiencing homelessness each year. Needless to say, Minnesota has experienced an unprecedented growth in homeless encampments since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.
846s has partnered with Mahad Omar to bring innovative solutions to address the needs of homeless population in the Twin cities with. His fund supports the Twin Cities houseless population with survival backpacks considering frigid Minnesota temperatures. So far 120 backpacks have been distributed to multiple locations across the Twin Cities. More survival backpacks are needed.
